Adding a new website channel

Adding a new website channel

In Breadstack, "channels" represent linked websites. In other words, in order to chat with customers via your store website, you need to set it up as a channel.

This article covers linking your store website to Breadstack as a live chat channel. You can also link social media accounts: see instructions for Facebook Messenger and Instagram Messenger.

There are two phases to adding a new website channel: (1) Linking your website to Breadstack, and (2) Setting up the Breadstack widget on your website.

  4. Close the popup but leave the Add Channel window open for the next step.

Step 2: Set up the live chat widget

The steps for adding the live chat widget to your site will differ slightly depending on your website hosting platform. Find your host here and follow the link to see their instructions on adding third-party widgets.

Once you've set up the chat widget, you'll see Connected appear in green under the Widget Connection column in your channel list view.

To ensure customer questions are routed to the right agents, you can further segment each channel into departments
