Recommending products during a chat

Sending a customer a product recommendation during a chat is a great way to turn a conversation into a sale. Breadstack Live Chat helps you find products to recommend, share them with the customer, and even offer a coupon - all without ever switching between windows.

Step 1: Choose a product to recommend

During an active chat with a customer, you'll see the customer information panel to the right of your chat window. This panel includes lists of products that your customer is likely to be interested in, as well as those your store may be interested in selling faster.

You can filter the list to show:

Recommended - This list is powered by Breadstack's own AI algorithm. It shows products based on a mix of factors, including popularity, stock levels, and current promotions. Plus, these will be the products that sell most in terms of quantity depending on All time periods.
Overstocked - These products currently have high stock levels but a lower-than-average sell rate. The criteria that Breadstack is currently using for this label are products that have inventory level higher than 150 percent of the last 30 day sales. Therefore, the recommendation is meant to help keep stock moving.
Often Purchased - This list shows products the customer has purchased in the past, ordered from most to least frequently purchased.

If your store has multiple locations, use the location drop-down to see products in stock at a specific branch.

Step 2: Share the recommendation

When you've decided which product to recommend, click on it. You'll see four icons appear underneath it.

These are your options for how to share the recommendation. See what each one means below.

Send recommendation in chat

Click this icon to send the customer a link to the product's page on your website.

The recommendation will be sent immediately as a stand-alone message.

Send product coupon in chat

Clicking this icon will bring up a popup with fields to create a unique coupon. The coupon will only be valid on the product you're recommending.

Fill out the fields and click Send. The coupon will automatically appear in the customer's chat feed.

Copy product page URL

Copy the product's URL so you can paste it into a customized message to the customer.

Open product page

Click this icon to open the product page in your browser. The page will open in a new tab.
